RODRIGO DENIS

 
 

Born in Panama, October 29th 1982,


At an early Age, Rodrigo studied music composition and was involved in many rock and jazz bands in Panama. He moved to Tampa, FL (2002) in order  to continue his musical path, performing and studying in college (HCC).


Attending Berklee College Of Music in Boston (2005), he was awarded several music scholarships and studied with guitar virtuoso Tim Miller among others.


In 2006, Rodrigo visits Panama; Performing with many artists like saxophone player/composer Carlos Garnett (Miles Davis’s group, 70’s), drummer Walfredo Reyes Jr (Santana, Christina Aguilera, Celia Cruz),  Innova with fellow musician Anibal De Leon, Chale Icaza, and others,

in many popular music festivals, including the Panama Jazz Festival, Panama Drum Festival, and the Panama International Music Festival.


He was also a finalist of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition in 2006, for the jazz category with the song “the last dance”.



in 2007, He moves to Los Angeles California where he completed the UCLA Film Scoring program.


Rodrigo composed music for several shortfilms, including Body of Work (dir: Alex Bram), screened at the Carnival of Darkness, (Golpe (Dir by Paulo Bongiovanni), Plagued (by Michael Clark) which was screened at the Cannes ShortFilms festival and Zero Film festival, Emancipated (dir: P.K. Ziainia) and many more...



His skills as guitar player and arranger/producer have led him to work as a band member and/or recording guitarist for Carlos Garnet, Jill Weiser, Autumn Kramer, The Vox, Ronan Chris Murphy, Ryan Hill, Kathleen Blackwell, Ernesto Carreyo, Polyphase, Innova, and many others..



As a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists of Los Angeles, Rodrigo was selected  to participate in the SCL mentorship program.


Currently, Rodrigo spends his time composing and working as guitarist/producer in Los Angeles.
